18 Weeks

This past week someone decided to make a guest appearance....my belly! People are beginning to understand by I was looking a little chubby. A lot of my tops are starting to look really tight and there will be no more button down shirts for this girl. I can still fit into all my jeans, but I need to wear a rubberband on some of the buttons because I don't like anything to be too tight on my belly. Baby girl has been really active for the past two weeks. Todd has yet to be able feel her moving around like crazy, but we are hoping in the next week or so. We went to our 18 week appointment yesterday and she has a nice healthy heart beat. I can't wait to see her in a few weeks for our 20 week scan.I also posted this picture by my other bump pics so you can see a comparison of my growth.

Updates Continued...With Pictures

Here is me and Todd in our Halloween get ups for a party that we went to. Todd was obviously dracula (yes, he is wearing makeup....scary!) and I am a witch.Me and the little one. I am not showing too well in this outfit.
Todd being scary!
Little and I made Beignets for breakfast while she was here. She was quite the helper!
For some reason Bentley has popped up with this attitude and only likes being with his dad. Todd came home one day and popped into the love sac and up jumps Bentley (knowing full well he is not allowed on it) and rested his head on Todd's shoulder and gave the sad face.
Little sitting with her potato people on her thrown aka The Stairs!
Little at the aquarium. She had soooo much fun! If you dress up on the 30th-31st you get in free and they pass out candy. So, here is our little Mermaid with all her fishies.

Little and Depo!
Little got her face painted at our neighborhood Halloween party with Mimi.
"Ariel" and uncle Todd relaxing before going trick or treating.

Family Fun and A Booty Shaking Baby

This past week has been really busy. Deb the Fabulous and McCall aka "Little," Evelyn aka "Mimi" all came to visit us this past week. We have had a ton of fun. We went to the park, we went shopping at the outlets, and we went to three Halloween parties; one at the church, one at the Georgia Aquarium and one in our neighborhood. We also baked a TON: Praline Pecan Banana Bread, Blondies with Chocolate Chips, Pecan Roca Bars, Taco Soup and Homemade Chicken Pot Pie. I think I put on a few pounds. Then yesterday Kelly aka "Papa" came into town. So if you are keeping tally mom that is 4 Dames and 1 Hillstead as our guests!

(Pictures to follow)

THEN....the news you have all been waiting for, we are having a little GIRL! We are so excited to put a bit more of an identity to our little one. It was so fun to see her during the ultrasound shaking her booty, drinking, sucking her thumb, and putting her hands behind her head relaxing. She has such a personality already.

Baby Updated

We went in for our 14 week appointment on Tuesday and we got to meet one of the doctors for the first time (there are two in the practice). She was so nice and LOVES to chat, which really surprised me. I asked her what she thought about the H1N1 vaccine and she said if she were pregnant she wouldn't get it, because it is so new and has not been tested long enough. I thought the same thing and have decided against it. So now I am a bit of a germ-a-phobe. Anyways, the babies heart beat was at a strong 159 and I am measuring right on track. So far I have gained no weight from my first appointment. Most of my symptoms of morning sickness have now gone and now I am feeling a lot better and food is sounding better. So far the only craving that has stuck is Pringles Salt and Vinegar chips and Light Sargento String Cheese. The one thing that still gets me is acidic and greasy foods, they upset my tummy. I am also really tired and have been having to take naps mid day.

So according to one of my pregnancy websites my baby is the length of a flip phone!

Bentley and The Bump

So Bentley has a new infatuation with the pumpkins we bought for our front porch. We caught him snoozing by them on Saturday. He was so excited when we brought them home that he was jumping up and down and surprisingly ignoring the neighbor kids that he loves to play with. It will be a sad day for Bentley when they start to go bad and we have to through them away.Ok, here are the shots everyone has been asking for. Here I am at 18 weeks for comparison with the others. Here I am at 13 weeks. I was trying to show my darker shorter hair, but I am kind of covering it with my hands. I got it done a few weeks ago when I visited my mom. They took off 4 inches. I think the baby had a nice growing spell this weekend. I guess he/she is the size of a lemon right now.
As a comparison here I am at 5 weeks and my hair is lighter and longer. And notice our bathroom upgrade from our rental apartment to our house, not too shabby. I am going to try to wear the same shirt the whole time to show the changes in my belly.

The Best Anniversary Present Ever!

Some of you who know us well know we were married in April and are wondering, "Hmmm...why would Melony be blogging about her anniversary in Septemeber?" Well as you can tell from the picture below we will be adding a new addition to the Dame family on April 19, 2010. Four days before our 5 year anniversary. We are VERY excited!

So, here is how I found out I was expecting. I was drinking a Diet Dr. Pepper and for some reason it tasted acidic to me and just horrible. I thought that was really weird. Then I had an idea to take a pregnancy test. Well, one positive turned into three positive pregnancy tests because I couldn't believe it. I couldn't hold in the excitement and knew I needed to tell Todd as soon as he got home. So, I booked it to Target and picked up a cute bag and a pair of baby shoes. I rushed home just as he was pulling in. So I pretended like I had to go to the bathroom really bad and had him set the table for dinner, while I put the shoes in the bag with a pregnancy test. Well, all during dinner I couldn't concentrate so, I told him I got him a treat and gave him the bag. All he could say was "WHHHATTT?" and I told him we were pregnant and we got all mushy and cried.

So, now I am almost 3 months and can't wait for this trimester to be over with. No more morning sickness and being tired (fingers crossed).

Updates from the slacker...

Well I know it has been a while since I have last updated. So, here is what is going on with the Dames. We have been in the wonderful land of closing delays with the house. We will FINALLY be in our new place next week. So in the mean time we have been really busy looking for appliances (in GA they don't sell houses with fridges, and we had to get a washer and dryer). I am soooo excited for our new washer and dryer. We got the new whirlpool steam system, so it will be more energy efficient, use less water, and be all around cleaner. We have also been shopping for new furniture for the house.

This past week we went to Destin, Florida for Labor Day Weekend. We went there a few times when we lived in Alabama and we always loved the beaches. It was so nice to get away and enjoy the beach. We have also gone to a few Braves games (one of which hosted the All American Rejects, which was awesome) and we also went to a pre-season NFL Falcons game. We really love all the games all that this city has to offer.

My brother Ryan has announced that he is moving to Knoxville, TN, so we will officially have some family in the South and we are so excited. He is also brining down our baby, Bentley! We are sooo excited to finally have him back after being away from him for two years.
